ISU coach pushing team to be more physical

April 8, 2008 By admin

Iowa State football coach Gene Chizik says he wants the Cyclones to be a more "physical" team during his second season at the helm and that has been a focus during the off-season. the emphasis has paid off and

Chizik says this is already a much stronger team compared to a year ago, as he says they’ve increased their weighlifting ability. Chizik says the team is now getting more explosive and in his opinion that will make them better football players.

Chizik says they’re emphasizing the physical parts of the game this spring and he says the players have done everything asked of them. Chizik says the players are buying into two major themes: being more physical, and trying to improve their play every single day. Iowa State’s spring game is April 19th.
