A Northwood man is dead after his tractor-trailer rolled off a state highway in Maine. The Lewiston Maine Sun-Journal is reporting that 57-year-old Leonard Pillatzki was hauling a truck full of bagged cedar chips at about 7:45 Saturday morning when he veered off a curve on State Route 2 and rolled down an embankment.

The Maine State Patrol says Pillatzki was partially ejected in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. A trooper say Pillatzki got into the shoulder and the truck struck a guardrail, going over it and ending up going down on the embankment onto a set of railroad tracks.

The trooper also says that Pillatzki was familiar with the road and the area, having driven in the area before, but the accident took place on a stretch of road that has seen several big-rig accidents recently.
