Workman falls 150 feet to his death from feed mill

April 15, 2008 By admin

A Fairmont, Minnesota, man is dead after falling nearly 150 feet from a feed mill under construction in northern Iowa.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department says 42-year-old Jose Aparicio Maltos was killed while he was working with concrete Monday morning at the Christensen Farms site near Thompson at the intersection of County Roads R-34 and A-42.

The Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administrator Mary Bryant says Maltos was working on a swinging scaffold when he slipped and fell. Bryant says her agency as well as Winnebago County authorities are continuing their investigation.
