Two die in motorcycle accident in Jasper County

April 17, 2008 By admin

Two people were killed in a motorcyle-van crash in northeast Jasper County last night. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office reports that 46-year-old David Alan Johnson of Des Moines and 45-year-old Tammy Jo Lemon of Newton were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both were riding on a motorcycle that was westbound on highway F-17 when a van driven by 64-year-old Earl Glover of Colfax pulled out in front of it. The motorcycle hit the right front corner of the van. Glover had minor injuries and was transported to Skiff Hospital in Newton.

He was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway, placed in the Jasper County jail and later posted bond. The accident remains under investigation.
