UNI baseball team hopes for strong close to season

May 8, 2008 By admin

The UNI baseball team closes the regular season by playing a series at Bradley beginning Friday. The Panthers are currently fourth in the Valley race with a mark of 11-7. Bradley is in fifth at 9-9. UNI assistant coach Marty Sutherland says if the team they believe they have shows up, they will be fine.

And he says final will be over and the players won’t have as many distractions. The Panthers snapped a six game losing streak on Wednesday night against Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Sutherland says the Panthers have been struggling at the plate.

Sutherland says the process has sped up and made it difficult to hit. He says they have to slow things down and control their self and thoughts and they will hit better. UNI is 25-17 overall.
