Twenty teams will tee off, today, at Centennial Oaks in Waverly for the first round of the NCAA division three women’s golf tournament. It marks the first time the tournament will be held in Iowa.

Wartburg coach Monica Severson says Illinois Weslyn has hosted the tournament, and it has been hosted in Florida. Severson’s team will be part of the field after winning the Iowa Conference title. She says it gives the program some of the focus on campus and showcases the talent they have.

Severson says there are some great teams form the Midwest that will compete with Methodist, which has won every title in division three. The tournament will be four rounds in length.
