Upper Iowa looking for new athletic director

May 14, 2008 By admin

Upper Iowa University is searching for a new athletic director. Gil Cloud will leave his post this summer after six years to become a vice president for a company in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Cloud says both he and his wife are from Tulsa and feel good about the opportunity to go back home. Cloud helped lead the transition of their program from the division three to the division two ranks and the school is now a member of the Northern Sun Conference.

He says the commitment that was made to that switch was important in the vision and mission they set forth and made it real rewarding. The program is coming off a year in which three of the school’s teams won conference titles.

Cloud says the other teams also showed great improvement, as each of the 11 sports showed improvement. Cloud feels good about where the program is at as he moves on.
