Record set in 3A 3,000 meter race

May 15, 2008 By admin

With near ideal conditions it did not take long for a new record to be set at the state high school track meet in Des Moines. Grinnell’s Danielle Nowasell established a new record in the class 3A 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:12.3.

That was nearly 15 seconds faster than the old record. Nowasell says she talked with her dad about the time and she said she knew she could run that fast. Nowasell also ran the event at the Drake Relays. It is only the fourth time she has run the race this year.
