Man stabbed to death in Ames

May 19, 2008 By admin

Police in Ames are investigating a fatal stabbing. Ames police commander Jim Robinson says the department received a call at 12:40 this morning about a man needing help in a wooded area near some Iowa Department of Transportation buildings on the city’s south side. Police found 45-year-old Daniel McGonigle suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The Ames man was flown to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, where he was pronounced dead. Nobody has been arrested in the case. Iowa DCI agents are helping Ames police with the homicide investigation.
