Irwin, O’Meara will play in Principal Charity Classic

May 20, 2008 By admin

The Principal Charity Classic keeps adding more big names. Three-time U.S. Open champion Hale Irwin and former Master’s and British Open champ Mark O’Meara have both committed to play in the Champions Tour event.

Tournament director Jeff Starr says they’re excited to add the two big names. He says the field for the tournament gets stronger each year as they’ve been lucky with the word of mouth about the tournament. He says the schedule also helps them.

With nearly all of the top 30 players from last year set to take part the field will rival some of the biggest tournaments on the Champions Tour. The action begins May 28th at the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines.
