UNI hires new athletic director

May 29, 2008 By admin

The University of Northern Iowa has a new athletic director.  It’s Troy Dannen.

Dannen has been with the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union since 1989. He was named the association’s executive director in 2002.

UNI has offered Dannen a four-year contract that will pay him $155,000 annually to head the Panther athletic department. Dannen, who is a UNI graduate, replaces Rich Hartsell, who resigned in January.

Dannen will be formally introduced during a Tuesday news conference scheduled on the Cedar Falls campus.
