Victim in possible flood-related death identified

June 2, 2008 By admin

It’s still unclear if flooding in central Iowa was to blame for the weekend death of a motorist. The Marshall County Sheriff’s office this morning has identified the victim of Sunday morning’s fatal, single-vehicle accident as 67-year-old Judith Ann Kascoutas of Marshalltown.

Police and fire personnel responded at 1:20 Sunday morning to a report of a vehicle in the flood waters of the Iowa River in the north ditch of East Main Street, just west of the Iowa River Bridge. Marshall County medical examiner Dr. David Bether pronounced Kascoutas dead at the accident scene.
