Alliant Energy signs deal to purchase wind turbines

June 3, 2008 By admin

Alliant Energy has signed a deal to spend millions of dollars on wind power. Alliant bought just over three-hundred wind turbines from Vestas-American Wind Technology. They’ll be delivered in three installments, with some of the turbines being installed on Alliant’s wind farm in Franklin County.

The first group of turbines will be delivered in 2009, with two other delivery dates in 2010 for the rest. The total purchase price for all the wind turbine equipment is $817 million. An Alliant executive says its part of the company’s "aggressive" expansion in wind generation.
