Authorities in northeast Minnesota are investigating the apparent drowning of an Iowa man. The body of 43-year-old Michael McDonald of Albia, Iowa, was pulled from about about 15-feet of water in Lake Two of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area on Monday night.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department says the man’s canoe had capsized earlier that afternoon as he was crossing the lake. The other person in the canoe when it flipped was able to make it to safety.
