A northeast Iowa teenager is facing felony charges for a crash last summer that killed a 14-year-old girl. Authorities in Fayette County Wednesday arrested 18-year- old Megan Cannon of Hawkeye on charges of OWI resulting in a vehicular homicide.
The sheriff’s department says Cannon was under the influence of alcohol when the van she was driving crashed and rolled several times, killing 14-year-old Amy Larson of West Union. The crash happened on the night of August 31, 2007. Three other 14 year-old-passengers were injured and Cannon, who was 17 at the time, was airlifted to a hospital in Waterloo.
