Oelwein woman dies in Waterloo accident

June 5, 2008 By admin

An Oelwein woman died in a one-vehicle accident in Waterloo early this morning. The accident happened shortly after one A.M. as a pickup driven by 35-year-old Josephine Pritchard of Oelwein was southbound in the left turn lane of Washington Street when she failed to turn and went through the intersection.

The truck crashed into a traffic signal pole. Pritchard was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, J.P. Williams Junior, also of Oelwein, was taken to a Waterloo hospital and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, where he is in guarded condition.
