Severe weather, possible tornadoes, hit again

June 5, 2008 By admin

Several possible tornadoes tore across southwest Iowa overnight. Damage to a home in Mills County, near Emerson, appears to have been caused by a tornado, with siding and roofing torn away and windows broken. Two barns and a machine shed were also destroyed there and another home in the county was damaged.

No injuries are reported. Another tornado damaged homes near Corning, with more tornado sightings reported near Creston, though damage is scattered and moderate. Several communities report very heavy rainfall, up to seven inches in some areas, with flooding now being the top concern.
