Marathon to Marathon is next week

June 6, 2008 By admin

Next week’s "Marathon to Marathon" is no longer accepting mail in registrations but on site registration will be available for the June 14th race which begins in Storm Lake and finishes in the town of Marathon.

Spokeswoman Lois Lind says you can register Friday at the Storm Lake High School from 5:30 until 8. Lind says runners from across the country have already registered for the event. They have runners from more than 20 states, from Oregon to New York, and also some runners from Germany.

The race is one of two marathons that are held each year in the state and is sanctioned by USA Track and Field. It’s a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, and Lind says many runners like the course because it’s "flat, fast and friendly." The event also includes a half-marathon, marathon relay as well as a 5K run.
