The Story County town of Cambridge experienced flooding overnight. County Emergency Management coordinator, Lori Morrissey, says there was just too much rain. Morrissey says there was about four inches of rain which settled into the south end of town.

Morrissey says some people were forced from their homes. She says the public works director and fire department helped evacuate about 12 people from the south end of town and they’re looking to get them temporary housing with the Red Cross. Morrissey says Cambridge appeared to get the worst of this latest storm.

Morrissey says the other areas of the county didn’t seem to get as much rain, but they still have numerous roads underwater or damaged by flooding. She says the county has asked the state and FEMA for assistance in repairing the public roads and for those how had damage to their homes. Morrissey says noone had been injured in the flooding and storms.
