Fort Dodge man killed in accident

June 13, 2008 By admin

A semi-truck and a car collided Thursday near Fort Dodge, killing a 34-year-old Fort Dodge man. Troopers say Mark Patterson was killed in Webster County when his Ford Escort collided with a semi driven by Dennis Nelson of Bonaparte.

The semi caught fire and Nelson used a fire extinguisher to try and control the flames until a fire truck arrived. Patterson was declared dead at the scene on Highway 169. The stretch of road was closed for three hours.
