Infant dies in crash north of Bloomfield

June 13, 2008 By admin

A collision between a car and semi in southeast Iowa Thursday claimed the life of an infant. The crash happened over the noon hour Thursday on Highway 63 north of Bloomfield in Davis County. The Iowa State Patrol says a car driven by 44-year-old Loretta Bales of Floris was turning into a driveway when it was rear ended by a semi.

Bales’ three-month old child, Quenton, was killed in the crash. Bales and her three-year old son, Adrain, were both injured. Charges are pending against the driver of the semi, 57-year-old William Davis of Alden.

Adrain Bales was treated and released from Davis County Hospital, Loretta Bales was hospitalized there and in "stable" condition this morning.
