Iowa Games need more volunteers

July 2, 2008 By admin

The Iowa Games are looking for officials for next month’s summer games in Ames. Executive director Jim Hallihan says the need is greatest in three sports.

He says they are always looking for soccer officials, and they need baseball and softball umpires. Hallihan says the baseball and softball numbers seemed to have zoomed up this year.

Hallihan says officials can call 888-777-8881 and register to officiate. Other volunteers can call the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau, or sign up on-line at the Iowa Games website . The summer games are July 17th through the 20th and the 23rd through the 25th.
