The Quad Cities Riverbandits report a sharp rise in attendance so far this season. Through 31 home games the Bandits are averaging just over 3,150 fans through the turnstiles.

General manager Kirk Goodman says they’re up about 60%, and that’s after loosing 9 of the first 35 games with the weather. Goodman says they’re very optimistic about the future. He says there are a number of different reasons for the increase.

Goodman says they did a lot to improve the ballpark and changing the identity of the club back to the Riverbandits was a big move. He says they also added a tiki village, a hot tub deck and planted corn down the left field line that he says is growing like wildfire.

Goodman says they’ve also done a lot of work to improve their merchandise and customer service to people who come to the games. He says that’s what he hears the most, is that people are happier with the experience.
