Fire damages grocery story in Albert City

A fire caused extensive damage to the grocery store in the northwest Iowa town of Albert City.The blaze was spotted around 8:30 Sunday night by the chief of the volunteer fire department. The grocery store, called City Market, was closed at the time and no one was injured.

There’s no word yet on what sparked the fire, which destroyed the roof of the store. Firefighters from Marathon and Storm Lake helped extinguish the blaze.
