State investigating death of inmate at Fort Dodge

The state medical examiner hopes to determine what killed an Iowa prison inmate at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility on Tuesday. Iowa Department of Corrections spokesman Fred Scaletta said the death was unexpected.

Scaletta said foul play was not suspected with an autopsy to be performed later today to determine the cause of the individual’s death. The name of the man has not been released. Further details are expected to be released later today by corrections officials.
