Perry wins John Deere Classic in playoff

July 14, 2008 By admin

A playoff was needed to decide the winner at the John Deere Classic near the Quad Cities. Kenny Perry beat Jay Williamson and Brad Adamonis on the first hole of the playoff by making par. Perry’s opponents both hit their approach shots into the water. Perry won his third PGA title in five starts.

Kenny Perry says he couldn’t remember a tournament where his putt won the tournament for him. He says he always felt his ball striking was the key, but in this tournament he hit clutch puts.

Perry is having his best year as a 47-year-old, and says he wants to win more golf tournaments. Perry says his goal is to get 20 tour wins
