Humboldt man drowns in quarry

July 23, 2008 By admin

A 28-year-old Humboldt man drowned Monday evening in a rural quarry southwest of Humboldt. Authorities identified the victim as that of Colin Anthony McKenney. McKenney’s body was recovered by divers from Story County and Carroll.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department reported that McKenney was swimming with others at the quarry at the time of the incident. An autopsy on McKenney will be performed this week at the State Medical Laboratory in Ankeny.
