Northwest Iowa man charged with arson

August 19, 2008 By admin

A northwest Iowa man is charged with arson after a fire in an apartment building in Orange City on Monday morning. Orange City Police and Fire Departments and the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s office investigated the fire at the Orange City Plaza apartments.

Ten people were in the building about 8 a-m Monday and were not injured. Authorities say the fire in the apartment was intentionally set. There was some smoke damage in some of the other apartments. Thirty-year-old Paul Johnson of Orange City is charged with 10 counts of arson in the first-degree. The investigation is continuing and other charges are pending.
