Drake looks to tougher task in second game

September 4, 2008 By admin

The Drake Bulldogs are on the road this weekend to take on Lehigh. The Bulldogs are coming off a 17-13 win over Upper Iowa in the debut of new coach Chris Creighton who says he likes the character his team displayed.

Creighton says they were down 10-0 early in the game as things didn’t go they way they wanted, but the character of the team showed through as they didn’t get negative. Creighton says he was pleased with the way the Bulldogs regrouped after falling behind early.

Creighton says he learned a lot about the character of the team and believes it will be tested again this year. Creighton says an opening game also shows a team its weak spots, and it showed him they have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball.

Creighton says the Bulldogs have a tough task against a Lehigh team that hopes to contend for the Patriot League title. He says they have a huge following and they can’t wait to get there. This will be the season opener for Lehigh.
