Heelan and Harlan meet as 1 vs. 2 in 3A

September 5, 2008 By admin

Week two of the high school football season is highlighted by a one versus two showdown in class 3A as top ranked Sioux City Heelan hosts number two Harlan. Heelan opened by rolling past Lawton-Bronson but coach Roger Janssen says they are areas that need improvement.

Janssen says they have to work on throwing the ball a little better as they weren’t as efficient at that as they would like. The Cyclones opened with a victory over Denison-Schleswig.

Harlan coach Curt Bladt says they are reasonably healthy and hope they can come out of the ballgame that way. Bladt says it’s a one versus two matchup and he’s not so sure his team is number two, but is sure that Heelan is one.
