Stanzi listed as number one heading into ISU game

September 9, 2008 By admin

Quarterback Ricky Stanzi is listed as the starter in the depth chart released by Iowa heading into this week’s big game with Iowa State. Stanzi had backed up Jake Christensen in the first ballgame, and was then given the start in the second.

Coach Kirk Ferentz says both have played well in the preseason, and starting Stanzi Saturday was a chance to see what he could do in that role. Stanzi led the Hawkeyes to an easy victory, and now will get the start against the Cyclones in Iowa City.
