Iowa State comes back, loses in overtime

The Iowa State Cyclones head into an off-week with a 2-2 record after falling at UNLV 34-31 in overtime. The Cyclones were dominated in the opening half and trailed 21-0 at the break before rallying in the second half. An Austin Arnaud 28 yard scoring strike to R.J. Sumrall with three seconds reaming sent the game to overtime.

Cyclone coach Gene Chizik says he was happy they stayed and fought, but is disappointed in the loss and the way they played in the first half. the bye week comes at a good time. Chizik says it will allow them to get ready going into Big 12 Conference play.

The Cyclones host Kansas in two weeks.
