Iowa women look to continue success from last season

October 9, 2008 By admin

The Iowa women’s basketball team takes high hopes into the upcoming season. The Hawks grabbed a share of the Big Ten title this past season after winning 11 of their final 13 games.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says last year was proof that great things can be accomplished when everyone is working on the same page. Bluder feels this team has the experience needed to make another title run. She says teams don’t do remarkable things without special seniors, and Bluder says they have five "special seniors" this year just like they did last year.

Bluder says they have a mix of "successful experience and youthful enthusiasm" and she says if they can blend those two together, they are going to be a good team. The Hawks open with an exhibition against Quincy University on November second.
