Hawkeyes head to bye off big win over Wisconsin

October 20, 2008 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes head into their off week with a record of 5-3 after throttling Wisconsin 38-16. It was a huge day for Iowa running back Shon Greene who finished with 217 yards and four touchdowns as the Hawks evened their Big Ten record at 2-2.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says he’s impressed because Greene just runs hard and loves the competition. Ferentz says the Hawks have a good feeling heading into their off-week. He says they’ve tried to look at it as an 8 game schedule and have pushed hard to win every game. Ferentz says they can use the time off to heal and get ready for the last four games.

Greene credits his success to the play of the offensive line, as he says none of his yardage would be possible without them.
