Burlington man dies in Missouri hit-and-run

October 27, 2008 By admin

A Burlington man was killed in a hit-and-run incident this weekend in Missouri. Authorities say 41-year-old Dean Nordman was hit by a car Saturday while walking along a dam near Clearwater Lake Resort in southeast Missouri.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses said the car was driving erratically and Nordman stepped onto the road to shield children from being hit. Nordman and his wife were in the area acting as counselors for a youth retreat for a church in House Springs, Missouri.

One boy suffered a broken leg. Police arrested the driver of the car. Nordman lived in Burlington with his wife and two children. He’s a native of Dunkerton.
