Iowa, UNI men’s basketball teams win

November 24, 2008 By admin

Anthony Tucker had 19 points and Jake Kelly added 16 off the bench as the Iowa Hawkeyes stayed unbeaten with a 66-57 victory over Oakland of Michigan. The Hawks won despite turning the ball over 16 times and coach Todd Lickliter says his team was tentative against Oakland’s zone defense.

Iowa shot better than 50-percent from the field, again, and Lickliter was pleased with the effort on the defensive end. Iowa is 4-0 and hosts Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday night.

UNI got by Texas Southern 74-67 in Cedar Falls as part of the Chicago Invitational Challenge.
