Iowa waits for bowl invite after pounding Minnesota 55-0

November 24, 2008 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes must sit back and wait to find out where they will be headed for the holidays after closing the season with a 55-0 rout of Minnesota Saturday in the Metrodome.

Coach Kirk Ferentz says he has no idea of where the team might go, and says the administrators will work that out. He says he’s glad that the players did their part and won the game. Iowa’s win could move them into a New Year’s Day bowl game as the Hawkeyes finished at 8-4.

Runningback Shonn Greene set the single season rushing record, with 144 yards to up his season total to a record 1,729.
