One person killed in Greene County accident

December 1, 2008 By admin

A 22-year-old Gowrie man was killed and a Des Moines man was hurt in a one-car accident Friday night near Jefferson in rural Greene County. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Kyle Matthew Fevold and the injured person identified as Marcus Alan Vincent Urelius.

It is not known whether Fevold or Urelius was driving the 2001 Chrysler 300. The car was heading eastbound on county road E-53 when it drove straight off a curve. The vehicle impacted in the east ditch hitting a utility pole and then rolled several times.

The car came to rest in a nearby field where both occupants were ejected. Fevold was pronounced dead at the scene while Urelius was first taken to the Greene Medical Center in Jefferson then life flighted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
