Iowa City police have charge a local woman with robbing a grocery store and assaulting two clerks in the process. The incident happened just before four A.M. at a Hy-Vee grocery story in Iowa City. The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Amy McBride, walked into the store, grabbed money from a cash register and in the process bit a female store clerk in the and punched a male clerk in the face.
McBride fled the store on foot, but officers investigating found her trying to escape in a vehicle. McBride was arrested and charged with second-degress robbery. Other charges are also expected to be filed.
