Hartford man injured in accident

December 3, 2008 By admin

A newspaper delivery driver is in critical condition after a crash in Waterloo early this morning. Police say van that delivers the Des Moines Register rear-ended a semi trailer and then caught fire and was engulfed in flames. The driver of the van, Michal McBride of Hartford, had to be pulled from the van.

McBride was taken to a Waterloo hospital and then transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City in critical condition. The semi driver was treated and released. The Register says the paper will not be delivered in northeast Iowa due to the accident.
