A Council Bluffs girl is facing two counts of making a bomb threat. Council Bluffs School District spokeswoman Diane Ostrowski says the threat was found by a janitor inside a girls’ bathroom at Kirn Junior High School.

The threat was discovered Monday after school had already dismissed and an investigation was immediately launched. Ostrowski says police questioned several girls after watching a surveillance video.

The investigation quickly revealed a small group of students who were involved. One of the girls, an unnamed 13-year-old, admitted that she wrote the threat. Ostrowski says that girl has been suspended and the others may face disciplinary action.

"This should send a message to anyone interested in pulling a prank that we will find out who they are and we’ll take it very seriously," she says. A different threat was found in another girls’ bathroom on November 25th and police say the cases are related.
