Winter storm makes morning commute tougher

December 9, 2008 By admin

A large storm system is rolling across Iowa this morning, bringing a mix of snow, ice and wind. Ben Moyer is a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Johnston.

Snowfall amounts range from two to nine inches, with the most falling north of Fort Dodge from Pocahontas over to Mason City. Moyer mentions the latest advisories posted across Iowa.

A winter storm warning is in effect through noon for much of north-central and northeast Iowa and a winter weather advisory for points farther south. Throughout the day, Moyer says the wind will be a problem across the state.

Moyer said there will be a bit of improvement in the weather by tomorrow.
