Two die in Sioux City crash

Two people were killed and another critically injured in a one vehicle crash early this morning in Sioux City. A release from the Sioux City Police Department says the crash happened shortly after 1 a.m. A vehicle went off Interstate 29 and ended up partially submerged in the Big Sioux River.

A woman, who was in the vehicle, placed the call for help. When officers arrived on the scene, the woman was retrieving personal belongings from the vehicle and was suffering from exposure. She was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where she was reported in critical condition. Two men were killed in the crash, one was found in the vehicle and one was thrown from the vehicle. The names of the victims are being withheld until relatives can be notified.
