Victim in Poweshiek County crash identified

December 29, 2008 By admin

Authorities have identified two men who were killed in a single vehicle accident Saturday morning in Poweshiek County. The Poweshiek County Sheriff’s office reports that the driver, 29-year-old Jason Shepard of Searsboro, and a passenger, 35-year-old Rick Dudley of Grinnell, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred at Highway 146 and 60th street about two miles east of Searsboro. Investigators say it appears the crash happened early Saturday morning, but it wasn’t reported until 10:20 a.m. when a passerby discovered the accident. Investigators say it appears the vehicle left the roadway and landed in a ditch.
