Waterloo man charged with attempted murder in baby’s injury

January 2, 2009 By admin

The father of a one-week old baby, injured in an incident in Waterloo New Year’s Day, has been charged with attempted murder. Waterloo Police arrested Jamie Lockhart at his home at 1109 Randolph Street. His 8-day-old son, James Lochart, was injured Thursday afternoon at the home.

Officers say the child sustained a severe laceration. The extent of his injuries aren’t known, other than the laceration. The baby is listed in stable condition at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Jamie Lockhart is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail under $200,000 bond.
