Police in the Des Moines metro area are investigating two overnight stabbings. Des Moines Police Sergeant Vince Valdez says officers were called to a hospital Sunday night on the report of a man being treated for at least 10 stab wounds.

Twenty-seven-year-old Abel Lopez told a friend he was attacked by three men after he returned to his north side home with groceries. Officers found groceries, but also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

"So, it’s a possibility it could be drug related," Valdez said. Lopez was listed in stable condition following surgery this morning. Meanwhile, in West Des Moines, police have charged a woman with willful injury in a domestic assault.

Fourty-six-year-old Kelly Dee Bishop is accused of stabbing her husband in the chest. Bishop took 46-year-old Albert Clausi to the hospital. There’s no word on his condition or what led to the stabbing.
