Manchester man dies in house fire

A rural Manchester man is dead after a fire heavily damaged his home Sunday. Firefighters were called to the home of Francis Hansel Northwest of Manchester a few minutes before 3 A.M. When they arrived they found the home engulfed in flames. Hansel’s daughter Joyce escaped the blaze.

Thirty-five firefighters from Manchester and Dundee were on the scene about three hours. The house sustained extensive structural damage. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
