Iowa part of computer settlement with Dell

January 13, 2009 By admin

Iowa and 33 other states have reached an agreement with the Dell computer company to settle complaints about the service customers got from the company. Bob Brammer, a spokesperson for the Iowa Attorney General, says the company has agreed to the settlement to address a number of consumer complaints.

Brammer says that includes failing to provide rebates as promised, failing to provide technical support or repairs they were obligated to do, and discrepancies in financing. He says Dell customers with concerns can get a rebate.

Brammer says Dell is going to make up to $1.5 million in rebates to the states, including $25,000 for Iowans. He says the rebates cover products purchased between April 1, 2005, and April 13, 2009, and claims must be postmarked by April 13, 2009. Brammer says the claim forms are available in a couple of ways.

Brammer says you can get claim forms on the Attorney General’s website  or by calling toll-free 888-777-4590 or 515-281-5926. Brammer says the claim forms are relatively easy to fill out.
