Mason City man arrested for giving steroids to teenage son

January 14, 2009 By admin

A Mason City man has been arrested for allegedly giving steroids to his teenage son. Todd Gerleman is charged with distributing a controlled substance to a minor.

Police say their investigation began after Gerleman’s 14-year-old son assaulted his mother at her home in Gilbertville. In the boy’s bedroom, officers found a syringe and 105 pills.

Testing showed the pills were an anabolic steriod. Court records indicate that the boy told investigators his father gave him the items during a weekend visitation in order to motivate him about sports.
