Tate could return for Hawkeyes

January 15, 2009 By admin

Iowa coach Todd Lickliter expects senior forward Cyrus Tate to play when the Hawkeyes visit Purdue in Big Ten action. Tate missed last Sunday’s game at Michigan after he suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the January eighth game against Minnesota. The Hawkeyes lost both games.

Lickliter says Tate worked hard to get back and he says he’s proud of the way Tate has tried to get back on the floor. How much Tate will play is still in doubt. Lickliter says he doesn’t know at this point, but it is obvious the important role Tate plays after seeing how they did in the last two games. Iowa is 1-3 in the league race.
